Tom Litchfield
TLC is Thomas Litchfield Computing. There's no company behind the letters, just me.
I build and look after websites for venues, nonprofits, museums, and small businesses in Sonoma, Marin, and Napa, from Petaluma. I've worked with WordPress for twenty-five years, which is long enough to know exactly what it's good at and exactly where it fails the people who own it.
What I do
Mostly three things. I repair WordPress sites that are broken or years behind. I convert the ones that should stop being WordPress into plain, fast pages with nothing to update. And I look after the result so the owner never thinks about it. Alongside that, I build event calendars for venues and AI assistants and automations for businesses that have a repetitive question or chore worth removing.
I also say what I see. Once I'm inside a site I notice what it could be doing for the business, and I'll tell you, whether or not it's what you hired me for. Ideas are free. Building them is quoted.
How I work
Fixed prices, written down before anything starts. Work happens on a private copy of your site, never on the live one, and you click through it before anything changes. AI does the tedious parts, scanning a theme for what breaks or converting hundreds of articles, and I do the judgment: what's worth doing, what isn't, and whether it's right for your site. That split is why the prices are fixed and the timelines are days.
What I'm not
- Not an agency. You deal with me, by name, start to finish.
- Not hourly. You know the price before you say yes.
- Not on call around the clock. Monitored sites get a person who responds; nobody gets a 3 a.m. phone number, and nothing I build needs one.
- Not a WordPress host. If you want to keep WordPress, Rescue keeps it current. If you want to stop, Convert does that.
